RAISING CAPITAL SKILLS: How to Pitch a Startup – 14 Things You Need To Know

How do you pitch a startup? Espessially if you are 6,10 or 14 y.o child?

Your startup pitch is everything and knowing how to pitch a startup is essential to your success.
It doesn’t matter how innovative, well thought-out or potentially profitable your product idea is – if you can’t attract investors to your idea, your business will face serious difficulty scaling up and achieving wide-spread success.

Of course, raising capital presents a unique set of challenges that many students struggle with. Your prospective investors aren’t going to just take your word that your business is going flourish; you need to demonstrate to them that investing in your startup is likely to provide them with a good return on their investment and good benefits for society.

Successfully attracting capital requires putting together a strong, compelling pitch that convinces investors to back your startup. As the competition for investors’ attention continues to grow, here are 14 key tips to follow in order to maximize your chance of winning over investors when pitching your startup.

1. Keep your startup pitch simple
Start out with a brief explanation of your business idea that immediately conveys your vision and purpose. Explain the problem that your startup is attempting to solve and why your business offers the solution.

2. Manage the timing of your startup pitch
Optimizing the time you’re given to present your business pitch is critical. Little else frustrates investors more than a pitch that goes too long; at the same time, you don’t want to waste the time you have by running short. At Startup Forum of MiniBoss Business Schools the time-frame for everu team pitch set by 3min.

3. Tell your startup story
It’s easy to get bogged down in facts, figures, and spreadsheets when making a pitch, but this information will almost always fail to capture your investors’ attention. Rather than approaching the opportunity as a sales pitch, use the occasion to tell your investors the story behind your business - why do you do it.

4. Reading the room.
Know when to tell a joke and when to take things down a more serious path. Creating something that is memorable and uniquely singular to your startup.

5. Stay focused
When developing your pitch, make sure that its core elements are clearly developed and emphasized to avoid getting lost in irrelevant tangents.

6. Convey the unique value of your startup’s product or service
One key component of winning investors is showing them why your product or service is different from anything else available on the market. Highlighting any patents or licenses that your product has or any significant purchase orders or distribution deals can help support your claims.

7. Let potential investors experience your product first-hand
Another effective way to show investors the distinctive features of your product is to let them see it and experience it first-hand. Pictures or screenshots of your product can help make it more tangible for investors, but if possible, letting your audience actually handle the product or try out a live demo can increase your impact.

8. Be clear on who your target audience is and why
Paint a picture of your ideal customer that will help convince investors that there’s enough of a demand for your startup’s product to justify their involvement.
Use demographic data and psychographic features to pinpoint your target audience. Explain why these individuals are your target audience. Use relevant data points to back up your claims and show the profitability of targeting the specific group.

9. Be grateful and enthusiastic about any startup opportunity
Ultimately, it doesn’t matter how well-crafted and professional your pitch is: if you aren’t passionate about your business and aren't grateful with investors won’t be a good parnter either.

10. Make sure you have a strong close
Remember to keep the end in mind as you are telling your startup’s story. The conclusion of your startup pitch should contain a brief, clear summary of your argument as to why investors should put their money in your startup.

11. Build a strong support team
Particularly if your startup has not yet had time to establish a clear successful track record, the strength of the experience and background of your startup’s employees is a key part of convincing investors that you’ll be able to carry out your business plan–especially if your team has prior experience working together on past successful projects. Highlight the successes of your support team and how their individual track records will help bolster your business’ own success.

12. Dress professionally
It may not be completely fair, but how you present yourself will influence how investors perceive your startup. The most polished presentation can be undermined by a sloppy, ill-fitting suit. A relatively small investment made in a new suit can go a long way to establishing your credibility in front of investors and helping you secure the capital your startup needs.

13. Study, study, study & Practice, practice, practice
No matter how well you think you know your business, practicing your presentation and getting feedback from those you trust is an important step in ensuring your pitch is as convincing as it can be.

14.
Cooperate with professionals to help you refine your startup pitch and presentation
You may be an expert in your particular business area, but that doesn’t mean that you’ll naturally know how best to pitch your startup to investors. While you certainly need to create the core business idea yourself, hiring a professional to fine-tune your pitch can help you better convey your business to others (for example, a good graphic designer, IT-manager).

GOOD LUCK!

From now MINIBOSS in Rotterdam/Netherlands! Top-14 Facts

MiniBoss Rotterdam Business School is the official branch of MBBS UK is now in the Netherlands!
World-Class Business Education for kids and teens aged 6-17 on Weekend Classes - all of it will make the Netherlands more powerful as a country and ecomony.

The Netherlands is known as the land of tulips, windmills, canals, clogs and coffee shops, but there’s also much more to this wonderful country than meets the eye. We’ve dug deeper to find 14 fun facts about the Netherlands you might not know.

1. Dutch men are the world’s tallest people

The tallest people in the world live in the Netherlands. The average height for Dutch men is 183 cm (6ft), while women average 171cm (5ft 7in). According to military records, the average male height in the Netherlands has risen by 20 cm in the last 200 years.

This fun fact about the Netherlands remains a mystery, as the reason for their height is still uncertain. Some theories attribute Dutch genetics, universal healthcare, low social inequality and a diet rich in cheese and dairy products.

2. The Netherlands is the world’s biggest flower exporter

The Netherlands is known as ‘the flower shop of the world’ and for good reason. They produce 80% of the world’s flower bulbs and the flower industry makes up over 5% of the Netherland’s GDP.

The country accounts for nearly 90% of the world’s total area of tulip farms (around 11,000 hectares), and they produce 4.3 billion tulip bulbs annually.

The flowers are also one of the Netherland’s biggest tourist attractions, with thousands of people flocking to see the beautiful fields each year. Haarlem is one of the best places to see the flowers, with many commercial fields and a Flower Parade.

You can also visit Keukenhof Park, known as the ‘Garden of Europe’. It’s the largest flower garden in the world, with around 800 varieties of tulips.

3. Amsterdam has over 1,200 bridges

Amsterdam’s beautiful bridges are an icon of the city. There are 1,281 bridges in Amsterdam which connect the city’s 165 canals.

There are several historic bridges, while others are decorated with bright flowers or lit up at night. You can even see 15 bridges at once, by crossing the Reguliersgracht and Herengracht bridges.

4. One-third of the Netherlands is under sea level

“The Netherlands” translates to “the lowlands” and there’s no secret how the country got its name! It is the most low-lying country in Europe, with almost one-third of it below sea level.

In 2015, MiniBoss Business School became global institution selling franchises in dozens of countries, growing up thousands of students.

We provide a global powerful society for our students to find themselves in the movement of game lessons and business games.

Оur one-of-a-kind, world-class teachers guide our community through a powerful, fun and transformative business education experience that’s designed to benefit the body, mind and soul, both on and off the class room. MiniBoss in Köln FROM NOW!

MiniBoss Business School in Köln FROM NOW! Congratulations to our partner Maryna Koleva with launching a new branch of MiniBoss Köln Business School in Germany!

What we know about Köln/ Cologne ?
  • Cologne has a lot to offer. We tell you the Fun Facts about the city. Cologne is one of the oldest cities in Germany and today the fourth largest city in the country.
  • It took 632 years to build the Cologne Cathedral
  • At Rheinpark, you may stumble upon a „Comforter-tree“ where kids can hang their old comforter and put it to rest.
  • In Cologne, you will find Germany’s only Palm Tree Alley (at Flora).
  • The famous pub snack „Halve Hahn“ has 450 Calories (a little more than a small portion of fries). Funny enough the name „halve Hahn“ is easily mistaken by other Germans as the word reminds of a „Halber Hahn“ – which means half of a chicken. In fact, a „Halve Hahn“ is just a bun with cheese.
  • The famous perfume „Eau de Cologne“ was initially a medicine against the pox. The brand “4711” used to be the house number of its founding company Farina – at Glockengasse in Cologne.
  • The famous sprayed banana – the metamorphic symbol for political and social events and for places that display great art is a project started in Cologne by artist Thomas Baumgärtel.

The Top 100 Most Valuable Brands in 2022

The Top 100 Most Valuable Brands in 2022

Given the elusive nature of brands, determining a brand’s financial value is a difficult task.

Despite a brand’s intangibility, it’s hard to deny just how effective a strong one can be at boosting a company’s bottom line.

With this in mind, Brand Finance takes on the challenge of identifying the world’s most valuable brands in the world in its annual Global 500 Report. The graphic above, using data from the latest edition of the report, highlights the top 100 most valuable brands in 2022.

Editor’s note: This ranking measures the value of brands, which can be thought of as marketing-related intangible assets that create a brand identity and reputation in the minds of consumers. It attempts to measure this in financial terms, calculating what the brand is worth to the company that owns it. For more information on methodology, calculations, and sourcing, go to the bottom of this article.
A Full Breakdown of the Most Valuable Brands

With an increase of 35% since last year’s report, Apple retains its top spot on the ranking as the world’s most valuable brand, with a total brand value of $335.1 billion.

This is the highest brand value ever recorded in the history of the Global 500 report, which has been published each year since 2007.

As one of the world’s largest tech companies, Apple dominates the smartphone market, especially in the U.S., where more than 50% of operating smartphones are now an iPhone.

Here’s a complete list of the 100 most valuable brands according to the report:

RankBrand2022 Brand Value ($B)Country Sector
  1. Apple $355.1 United States Tech & Services
  2. Amazon $350.3 United States Retail & Consumer Goods
  3. Google $263.4 United States Media & Telecoms
  4. Microsoft $184.2 United States Tech & Services
  5. Walmart $111.9 United States Retail & Consumer Goods
  6. Samsung Group $107.3 South Korea Tech & Services
  7. Facebook $101.2 United States Media & Telecoms
  8. ICBC $75.1 China Banking & Insurance
  9. Huawei $71.2 China Tech & Services
  10. Verizon $69.6 United States Media & Telecoms
After Apple, coming in a close second is Amazon with a brand value of $350.3 billion. This is not surprising, considering the tech giant has often found itself neck-and-neck with Apple in the rankings, and has even come in first place in previous editions of the report.

One other brand worth highlighting is TikTok. The social media company saw a 215% increase in its brand value year-over-year, making it the fastest-growing brand on the entire list.

Between 2019 and 2021, the platform saw its userbase skyrocket, growing from 291.4 million to 655.9 million in just two years. If this growth continues, TikTok could reach nearly one billion users by 2025, according to projections from Insider Intelligence.

Most Valuable Sectors
Over a third of the brands on the list fall into the tech and services sector. Combined, this category has a brand value of $2.0 trillion.

Sector Brand Value% of Top 100
  • Tech & Services $2.0 trillion 36.8%
  • Media & Telecoms $1.0 trillion 19.2%
  • Retail & Consumer Goods $910 billion 16.8%
  • Banking & Insurance $634 billion 11.7%
  • Energy & Utilities $411 billion 7.6%
  • Automobiles $400 billion 7.4%
  • Healthcare $33 billion 0.6%
Media is the second most valuable sector — 19% of the top 100 brands fall under the media and telecoms sector, including Google, Facebook, and WeChat.

COVID-19 is partly the reason for this, as media consumption increased throughout the global pandemic. For example, in the first nine months of 2021, Snapchat’s daily usage grew by 77%. Despite increased traction with users, it’s worth noting the company is now feeling the sting as the real world competes for attention spans once again and advertisers begin to ghost the app due to recession jitters.

As pandemic restrictions fade out around the world, and murmurs of a global recession threaten global economic growth, next year’s report could see some big shifts in brand value.

When looking at where these brands are based, we see that the United States and China account for 73 of the top 100 brands on the ranking. Even more surprising—just six countries make up 94% of the list.

The growth of Chinese companies on the global stage is reflected in this visualization. As a point of comparison, a decade ago, only six Chinese companies made Brand Finance’s Top 100 ranking, and none of them were in the top 30 for brand value.

9 Mental Models to Solve Difficult Problems

The Mental Models to help you build your can make better decisions, we’ve collected and summarized the ones we’ve found the most useful.

1. Hanlon’s Razor

Hard to trace in its origin, Hanlon’s Razor states that we should not attribute to malice that which is more easily explained by stupidity. In a complex world, using this model helps us avoid paranoia and ideology. By not generally assuming that bad results are the fault of a bad actor, we look for options instead of missing opportunities. This model reminds us that people do make mistakes. It demands that we ask if there is another reasonable explanation for the events that have occurred. The explanation most likely to be right is the one that contains the least amount of intent.

2. First Principles Thinking

First-principles thinking is one of the best ways to reverse-engineer complicated situations and unleash creative possibility. Sometimes called reasoning from first principles, it’s a tool to help clarify complicated problems by separating the underlying ideas or facts from any assumptions based on them. What remains are the essentials. If you know the first principles of something, you can build the rest of your knowledge around them to produce something new.

3. Second-Order Thinking

Almost everyone can anticipate the immediate results of their actions. This type of first-order thinking is easy and safe but it’s also a way to ensure you get the same results that everyone else gets. Second-order thinking is thinking farther ahead and thinking holistically. It requires us to not only consider our actions and their immediate consequences, but the subsequent effects of those actions as well. Failing to consider the second and third order effects can unleash disaster.

4. Probabilistic Thinking

Probabilistic thinking is essentially trying to estimate, using some tools of math and logic, the likelihood of any specific outcome coming to pass. It is one of the best tools we have to improve the accuracy of our decisions. In a world where each moment is determined by an infinitely complex set of factors, probabilistic thinking helps us identify the most likely outcomes. When we know these our decisions can be more precise and effective.

5. Inversion

Inversion is a powerful tool to improve your thinking because it helps you identify and remove obstacles to success. The root of inversion is “invert,” which means to upend or turn upside down. As a thinking tool it means approaching a situation from the opposite end of the natural starting point. Most of us tend to think one way about a problem: forward. Inversion allows us to flip the problem around and think backward. Sometimes it’s good to start at the beginning, but it can be more useful to start at the end.

6. Occam’s Razor

Simpler explanations are more likely to be true than complicated ones. This is the essence of Occam’s Razor, a classic principle of logic and problem-solving. Instead of wasting your time trying to disprove complex scenarios, you can make decisions more confidently by basing them on the explanation that has the fewest moving parts.

7. Circle of Competence

When ego and not competence drives what we undertake, we have blind spots. If you know what you understand, you know where you have an edge over others. When you are honest about where your knowledge is lacking you know where you are vulnerable and where you can improve. Understanding your circle of competence improves decision-making and outcomes.

8. The Map is Not the Territory

The map of reality is not reality. Even the best maps are imperfect. That’s because they are reductions of what they represent. If a map were to represent the territory with perfect fidelity, it would no longer be a reduction and thus would no longer be useful to us. A map can also be a snapshot of a point in time, representing something that no longer exists. This is important to keep in mind as we think through problems and make better decisions.

9. Thought Experiment

Thought experiments can be defined as "devices of the imagination used to investigate the nature of things." Many disciplines, such as philosophy and physics, make use of thought experiments to examine what can be known. In doing so, they can open up new avenues for inquiry and exploration. Thought experiments are powerful because they help us learn from our mistakes and avoid future ones. They let us take on the impossible, evaluate the potential consequences of our actions, and re-examine history to make better decisions. They can help us both figure out what we really want, and the best way to get there.

New Franchisees owners Course # 9' 2022

Now the franchisees owners of the 9th group of entrepreneurs for 2022 are finishing their training, who are opening new branches of business schools in different countries.

In the wheel of life people BORN new people...
Little people are called CHILDREN.

Why do these mini-people have a different name? Because CHILDREN means "not yet adults", they still do not know how much and are just learning to survive. The child may not survive physically, emotionally or mentally from the severity of the problems that may fall on his head. And life is just a series of problems and threats to life. And only those who learn to turn problems into tasks will survive always and everywhere, will be able to provide food for themselves and their families.
This is success.

Who teaches a child to survive? His genes are like automatic survival programs. Parents as an example and advice. environment as role models. School as new knowledge and skills for the ability to be able to turn any problem into a task and successfully solve it.

And how to prepare your child for adulthood and when?
The answer is in this MINIBOSS briefcase....

1. WHEN - from an early age, when the brain absorbs knowledge and skills to the MAXIMUM - from 6 to 17 years.

2. WHAT - the most important thing for a child is his own strength, his self-confidence, his ability to TAKE and DO! And this skill is opened in the global MINIBOSS program through 8 courses, which step by step open and develop eight basic intellects of an outstanding person - a brilliant entrepreneur!

3. HOW - multi-format! When a child not only trained himself, for example, in sports - holding a racket and hitting a ball in tennis, not only memorized a lot of topics in mathematics and physics at school, but also ..... developed his ability to APPLY THIS KNOWLEDGE in various fields of activity, earning money from their talents.

Therefore, everything is simple, more talent = more money. Higher ability to monetize talent = more money in life. That's all.

And if there are talents, but the child does not train to implement them in life (monetize), but, on the contrary, is afraid to make a mistake, and is afraid to start, and is afraid to fail, and the parent does nothing about it, then losers grow out of such children. But this child also wants to be successful and happy! And in this matter, it is the parents who either act or are inactive that play an outstanding role.

What should a parent do?
A lot of things .... At the same time, the main thing is that it is important to sign a child in MINIBOSS as early as possible so that he loves to live, fight for life and survive, creating his own story!
