To WIN means to be POLYMATHS. Why MINIBOSS Academic Programme includes multi-talented focus

Many successful people had extensive knowledge in various fields. Steve Jobs, Ben Franklin, Thomas Edison, Leonardo da Vinci are just some of them. They are all polymaths.

Who are polymaths

A polymath is a person who is competent in at least three different areas and who knows how to integrate this knowledge together.

Simply put, such people take the best in various areas, which helps them become more effective in the field of their main work.

They create atypical combinations of knowledge from different fields, offer breakthrough ideas and completely new areas to explore.

For example, Charles Darwin, the creator of the famous theory of evolution, was also a polymath. Stephen Johnson, author of Where Good Ideas Come From. The Birth and Destiny of Innovation”, describes him as a man of vast knowledge in the fields of marine biology, geology and natural science. It was the interest in various sciences that allowed Darwin to make a scientific breakthrough.

Why are such people the norm of the modern world?

Polymaths have always existed. But in the past such people did not have much recognition. It was believed that the more sciences a person comprehends, the less thoughtfully he does it.

Amazon vs eBay: how each of these companies makes money.

 eBay vs. Amazon: An Overview

Whether you list things while at home in your pajamas, have money sent directly to you, or drop packages off in the mail, using eBay or Amazon is easier than the yard sales of yesteryear. But which major e-commerce site is best? It might help to understand how each of these companies makes money.

Listing on Amazon allows buyers to purchase right from the Amazon website and sellers can even have Amazon fulfil the order if they choose to have it stored at one of the Amazon warehouses.

eBay offers more customized listings, as well as the ability to have eBay employees put together listings for sellers.

Getting paid from Amazon as a seller involves having money deposited directly into your bank account, while eBay still uses PayPal for the most part. In addition, customers pay you directly.

Startup Forum in Kakhovka: children presented social and business projects

Kakhovka hosted the first Startup Forum. The purpose of the Forum is to identify and support innovative and socially helpful business projects for children aged 6-17 years. The mission of this event is the development of the Ukrainian economy through the support of business initiatives for children and young people.

Young businessmen, representatives of the Kakhovka and Nova Kakhovka schools, and pupils of the international educational network MiniBoss Business School, throughout the year, studied the basics of economics and entrepreneurship, inventive thinking and project management. The children presented their first real business projects.

The Startup Forum was held at the Park Avenue restaurant. Young speakers had the opportunity to present their critical and perspective ideas for consideration by a jury - entrepreneurs and top managers of companies, and representatives of government bodies, in order to get an objective assessment of projects and investments for their development and implementation.

In total, 4 projects were presented. The smallest participants presented a project of the preparation of sweets on the basis of natural ingredients. The middle group shared the idea of making soap with toys inside (in order to motivate kids to wash their hands). The next project is the production of screens for the home puppet theatre. And the older participants proposed a social project "Clean City", which involves the manufacture of underground trash tanks, which will eliminate many problems with garbage in the city (this proposal was of particular interest).

The jury had an opportunity to appreciate the prepared projects (some even to taste), express their impressions, comment, and ask a question. After all, for children, recognition, objective judgments and constructive remarks are very important. As well as members of the jury provided partial financial support and grants for a total amount of UAH 4860 for the implementation of startups.

By providing support, everyone takes part in the formation of a new, powerful generation - a young generation who can think big, and make important decisions. This is surely Mayor Andriy Andriyovych Dyachenko, who urged children "not to be afraid to make mistakes because every mistake is an experience", which will help in the future.

Beginning to create something at 6 years old, there is a chance to avoid many mistakes and risks at an independent age. By creating their own projects, children gain experience and motivators of a life position.

Lesia Jozhikova, director of the branch, says: "Our minibosses turn knowledge acquired into a business school into successful projects and, most importantly, these projects are useful for society."

Deputy Mayor of the city of Nova Kakhovka, Vladimir Nikolaevich Serovatka thanked the organizers for a wonderful project that "teaches children to think logically, ask questions and answer them, have their own opinions."

The West gave a lot of nice things. So, Olga Sergeyevna Rzhanova, the manager of the PrivatBank department, invited the children to visit their department. He also promised to take 8 free lessons at the Business School to provide practical assistance in creating future business projects. Olga Sergeyevna presented an invitation to the "Quest-room", which is located in Kherson.

A lot of kind words came to the address of the organizers and participants of the forum. There was a conviction that parents made the most important investment in life - an investment from their children. All members of the jury presented the certificates of members of the council of businessmen for the support of the young entrepreneurial elite and assistance in the creation of social projects.

The forum is supported by the mayor of Kakhovka. School pupils plan to take part in the championship of Ukraine, which will take place in June and in the World Cup, which will be held in Bulgaria in August. So luck and new creative ideas for young businessmen!

Educational Franchises change the world much faster and deeply

If you are interested in educational franchises, then you know that education is a powerful thing that can change students completely.

In view of the fact that ordinary schools and universities use the old paradigms of education, we are making a real revolution in the field of education with our franchises, accelerating progress by the fact that the franchise is a ready-made and proven business model that is already changing the world.

Today, even at the annual session of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the main theme is "The Education Revolution".

Many people know the problems of mass education. In general, I will present them in three points:

1. Outdated guidelines for education.

The system of mass education was born as a mass phenomenon only an average of 150 years ago in Great Britain to mass-produce workers for the purposes of the industrial revolution. Nothing has changed since then. Schools still prepare a person as a "working profession". And the economy in the digital age is changing very quickly and, according to statistics, about 2/3 of professions die off by the time a student graduates from university.

2. Outdated programmes and methods.

Children in schools are taught as they were 150 years ago by memorization and retelling. Although an analytical mechanism was added to the programs - writing an essay, anyway

3. No one in the world trains the creators of economies, entrepreneurs, or innovators.

Only in recent years, leading universities have added entrepreneurship and innovation courses to their programs, however, they do not take into account the main thing - the age of the student. Scientists have proven that the formation of the "brain and thinking of an entrepreneur" is formed in early childhood, and not at the university age of 20-25 years when it is already too late for fundamental changes in the formation of a person's character. And for entrepreneurship, character is more important than knowledge.

Saadia Zahidi, Head of the Center for a New Economy and Society, Member of the Board of the World Economic Forum:

“How to achieve greater social cohesion? How to provide people with ways to social mobility? One of the most important ways is to give them access to the right education, the right skills, and the right job. [...] The future of jobs is not necessarily negative, but what we are seeing now shows a major shift in the skill set within each of the professions that will exist in the future - whether in healthcare, education or information technology.

STARTUP FORUM 2023 was held in Baku, Azerbaijan

How to create a path to success for your child?! After all, everyone already understands that only knowledge is not enough to achieve success in life.

Then what should families do, how and where do they have to raise children, so that at the most fruitful age for the development of abilities (6-17 years old) they have a chance to give what they really need, what is the most valuable thing in education?

Experts from MiniBoss Baku Business School, answer this question, showing the example of the ongoing STARTUP FORUM and how the unique programme and methodology of MiniBoss turns an ordinary child into a future world business star.

On April 8, MiniBoss Business School Baku held a Startup Forum 2023 on entrepreneurship among children and adolescents aged 6-17. As part of the event, 14 teams presented their business projects to well-known entrepreneurs and investors.

The MiniBoss Business School Baku franchisee owner Narmina Hasanova noted in an interview, the Startup Forum is a platform that creates an opportunity for children and teenagers to present their projects, defend them in front of questions from the jury members and get their first capital on them.

"Every year, MiniBoss Business School students first go through business theory, and in the second semester, they move on to practice - creating project ideas, and then creating startups themselves. After that, they speak to well-known entrepreneurs of their city - jury members of the Startup Forum, presenting their projects as a presentation. If the presentation is successful, they receive the necessary financial support, and then they use the received amount to implement their projects. Further, during the National Entrepreneurship Championship, which will be held on June 15, they will present the finished product or service to the jury members, talk about I would like to note that the minimum amount of grants last year was 400 manats, and the maximum amount was 5,000 manats. I also emphasize that some of the projects this year are social. I believe that each team will adequately present their will achieve its goals in the future," said Narmina Hasanova.

According to the director of MiniBoss Business School Baku, Alina Khalafova, children and teenagers were preparing for the startup forum with great diligence and enthusiasm.

"This year, along with the students of the MiniBoss Business School, teams from Republican secondary educational institutions also present their startup projects. In general, 14 teams participate in the startup forum, representing various business and social projects," Khalafova emphasized.

The jury of the start-up forum included - Head of the Pasha Holding Innovation Department Farrukh Aliyev, the Director of NCUK Baku Basti Agarzaeva, the Director of the British Council for Azerbaijan Nargiz Hajiyeva, the Director of the European Azerbaijan School Francesco Bankini, Head of UAFA (United Aid for Azerbaijan) Gwendolyn Burchell, Deputy Rufat Atakishiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the event, 14 teams presented their startup projects to the jury - Screenish, VIP Puzzle, Scenty sport, New energy generator, Econotes, Challenger, Dulce Date Bar, Yummy Gummy, WoodMood, BeSafe, Box from my land, Infanimals, Smart Robot Cyclist and Drewdrop.

In addition to business-oriented startups, this year young entrepreneurs also presented social projects. Startups in the field of food, ecology, textiles, alternative energy, information technology and many other areas were met with great interest from the participants of the event.

Presenting startup projects, the teams that developed their marketing strategy informed the jury about the estimated implementation costs, business risks, market specifics, target audience, and how they plan to sell their products or services.

After the presentation, the teams answered questions from the jury members.

Despite the fact that the members of the teams are young and only gained experience, knowledge and skills in the field of business, they confidently and firmly answered the questions posed, and competently analyzed the market and competitors.

After the presentation of startup projects, they were evaluated by the jury and the teams were allocated an appropriate grant for the implementation of their projects.

So, the Screenish team - 1000 manats; VIP Puzzle - 1300 manats; Scenty sport - 600 manats; New energy generator - 500 manats; Econotes - 1000 manats; Challenger - 1400 manats; Dulce Date Bar - 500 manats; Yummy Gummy - 2000 manats; WoodMood - 2000 manats; BeSafe - 2000 manats; Box from my land - 2010 manats; Infanimals - 1800 manats; Smart Robot Cyclist - $210; Drewdrop - $450.

It should be noted that MiniBoss Business School is the only business school in the world market with 70 branches in 27 countries that use innovative programs and methodologies for teaching entrepreneurship and business to children and adolescents. Based on its unique methodology, the school creates ample opportunities for the full disclosure of the entrepreneurial potential of children and adolescents aged 6-17 and for the identification of strong leadership qualities.

The international educational network - MINIBOSS BUSINESS SCHOOL, annually organizes the STARTUP Forum, national and world championships in entrepreneurship among children and adolescents aged 6-17. Recall that in 2023 the World Startup Championship will be held on July 16-20 in the UK, Glasgow.

Maserati: History of the oldest Italian auto brand discovered by MINIBOSS STUDENTS 2023

The MiniBoss & BigBoss Business Schools students visited the legendary factory that produces 25,000 cars a year. In total, all Maserati plants have placed a yearly production output cap of 75,000 vehicles globally.

Maserati is an Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer. Established on 1 December 1914, in Bologna, Italy, the company's headquarters are now in Modena, and its emblem is a trident.

The Maserati brothers

Ettore, Bindo, Ernesto, and Alfieri Maserati

The Maserati brothers, Alfieri (1887–1932), Bindo (1883–1980), Carlo (1881–1910), Ettore (1894–1990), and Ernesto (1898–1975), were all involved with automobiles from the beginning of the 20th century. Alfieri, Bindo, and Ernesto built 2-litre Grand Prix cars for Diatto. In 1926, Diatto suspended the production of race cars, leading to the creation of the first Maserati and the founding of the Maserati marque. One of the first Maseratis, driven by Alfieri, won the 1926 Targa Florio. Maserati began making race cars with 4, 6, 8, and 16 cylinders (two straight-eights mounted parallel to one another).

Piazza Maggiore's Neptune and his trident

The trident logo of the Maserati car company, designed by Mario Maserati, is based on the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna's Piazza Maggiore. In 1920, one of the Maserati brothers used this symbol in the logo at the suggestion of a family friend Marquis Diego de Sterlich. It was considered particularly appropriate for the sports car company due to the fact that Neptune represents strength and vigour; additionally, the statue is a characteristic symbol of the company's original home city.

Orsi ownership

In 1937, the remaining Maserati brothers sold their shares in the company to the Adolfo Orsi family, who, in 1940, relocated the company headquarters to their home town of Modena, where it remains to this day. The brothers continued in engineering roles with the company. Racing successes continued, even against the giants of German racing, Auto Union and Mercedes. In back-to-back wins in 1939 and 1940, an 8CTF won the Indianapolis 500, making Maserati the only Italian manufacturer ever to do so.

The second world war then intervened and Maserati abandoned car-making to produce components for the Italian war effort. Once peace was restored, Maserati returned to making cars; the A6 series did well in the post-war racing scene.

Key people joined the Maserati team. Alberto Massimino, a former FIAT engineer with both Alfa Romeo and Ferrari experience, oversaw the design of all racing models for the next ten years. With him joined engineers Giulio Alfieri, Vittorio Bellentani, and Gioacchino Colombo. The focus was on the best engines and chassis to succeed in car racing. These new projects saw the last contributions of the Maserati brothers, who, after their 10-year contract with Orsi expired, went on to form O.S.C.A. This new team at Maserati worked on several projects: the 4CLT, the A6 series, the 8CLT, and, pivotally for the future success of the company, the A6GCS.

The famous Argentinian grand prix driver Juan-Manuel Fangio raced for Maserati for a number of years in the 1950s, achieving a number of stunning victories including winning the world championship in 1957 in the 250F. Other racing projects in the 1950s were the 200S, 300S, 350S, and 450S, followed in 1961 by the famous Tipo 61.

Citroën ownership
In 1968, Maserati was taken over by Citroën. Adolfo Orsi remained the nominal president, but Maserati was controlled by its new owner. The relationship started as a joint venture, made public in January 1968, in which Maserati would design and manufacture an engine for Citroën's upcoming flagship called SM. The Bora is the first mid-engine Maserati road-legal automobile.

Crisis years
Meanwhile, the 1973 oil crisis put the brakes on the ambitious expansion of Maserati; demand for fuel-hungry sports cars and grand tourers shrank drastically. Austerity measures in Italy meant that the domestic market contracted by 60–70%.

All of the main Italian GT car manufacturers were heavily affected, having to lay off workers in order to empty lots of unsold cars. Maserati received the hardest blow, as its home market sales accounted for over half of the total—in contrast with Ferrari's 20%.[16] In this situation, the only Maserati automobile that continued to sell in appreciable numbers was the small-displacement Merak.

In 1974, with the 1973–75 recession at its climax, things took a turn for the worse. Citroën went bankrupt and its incorporation into PSA Peugeot Citroën began. The year closed with domestic sales tumbling from 1973's 360 to 150 units, and losses exceeding the share capital. The workforce immediately picketed the factory, but production was not halted. Trade unions, the mayor of Modena, and local politicians mobilised to save the 800 jobs; industry minister Carlo Donat-Cattin even flew to Paris to meet Citroën chairman Francois Rollier. An agreement was reached in June, after several meetings and assemblies. During one of these meetings, Citroën liquidators disclosed that a possible Italian buyer had shown up, and the name of Alejandro de Tomaso was put forth for the first time. Citroën accepted to suspend liquidation as requested by the Italian government, which on its part guaranteed six months of special redundancy fund to pay the salaries.

De Tomaso era
On 8 August 1975, an agreement was signed at the Ministry of Industry in Rome, and the property of Maserati passed from Citroën to Italian state-owned holding company GEPI and Alejandro de Tomaso, an Argentinian industrialist and former racing driver, became president and CEO. As of December 1979, GEPI's quota amounted to 88.75% of Maserati, and the remaining 11.25% stake was being controlled by de Tomaso through a holding company which grouped his automotive interests in Maserati and Innocenti.

In 1984, Chrysler bought a 5% share in Maserati. Following an agreement between De Tomaso's friend and Chrysler head Lee Iacocca, a joint venture was signed. Maserati would go on to produce a car for export to the American market, the Chrysler TC by Maserati, with Chrysler-sourced engines. In July of that same year, a merger between Maserati and Nuova Innocenti was decided; it was carried out in 1985. Chrysler upped its stake to 15.6% by underwriting three-quarters of a 75 billion Lire capital raise in 1986.

FIAT ownership

On 19 May 1993, 17 years after having rescued it from liquidation, Alejandro De Tomaso sold his 51% stake in Maserati to FIAT, which became the sole owner.

Ferrari

In July 1997, FIAT sold a 50% share in the company to Maserati's long-time arch-rival Ferrari (Ferrari itself being owned by FIAT). In 1999, Ferrari took full control, making Maserati its luxury division. A new factory was built, replacing the existing 1940s-era facility.
